Every month, six frontier AIs — Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, Grok, and Gemini — each receive the identical prompt for every category and vote blind on which AI tool is objectively best. Majority wins; in a tie, votes a judge casts for its own model family are set aside and the remaining disinterested votes decide.

Are AIR routing results influenced by sponsorships?

No. Results come solely from the monthly blind vote of six independent AI judges. Results are reviewed by a human before going live, but the vote itself is never edited.

How often do routing assignments change?

Every category is re-judged from scratch each month with no memory of prior winners, and assignments update live in the apps — no app release required.

The Methodology — what we actually ask ▾

Every month, each of the six judges receives the identical prompt for every category — no judge sees another's vote, no history, no steering:

"You are an objective AI tool evaluator. For the category ___, which AI tool or app is objectively the best choice for a user prompt in this category?" — answered with one tool and a one-sentence reason.

Votes are tallied blind: majority wins. In a tie, votes a judge casts for its own model family are set aside and the remaining disinterested votes decide. Results are reviewed by a human before going live — but the vote itself is never edited.
