Overview
4Cylinder Technologies LLC ("4Cylinder," "we," "us," or "our") is a Delaware-incorporated software company operating out of Charlotte, NC. We build mobile applications designed to make AI work harder for you.
This Privacy Policy applies to all apps published by 4Cylinder Technologies LLC, including DashboardAIR, AskAIR, and MyOwnIQ. It describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
We believe in plain language. This policy is written to be read — not to bury what matters in legal jargon.
Apps Covered by This Policy
DashboardAIR
The AI power user command center. Type one prompt — DashboardAIR routes it to the best AI tool automatically, renders the answer in-app, and shows the confidence score. Available on iOS and Android.
AskAIR
The consumer AI guide. Tap a life category, ask your question, get an answer from the right AI — all inside the app. No switching, no copy-pasting. Available on iOS and Android.
MyOwnIQ
An AI-powered home inventory app. Photograph your belongings — AI catalogs, locates, and manages them. In development.
What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide our services.
- Account information — your email address, used to create and manage your account.
- Subscription status — your plan tier (Free, Pro, Teams, or Family), managed through Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat.
- Usage data — anonymized routing history used to improve our AI routing engine. We do not store the full content of your prompts on our servers beyond what is required to generate your answer.
- Device information — device type and OS version, collected automatically to ensure compatibility.
We do not collect your name, phone number, location, contacts, or any sensitive personal information unless explicitly required for a specific feature and disclosed at the time of collection.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your data to any third party — ever.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not store the full content of your AI prompts on our servers.
- We do not share your personal information with AI providers — only your prompt is passed to generate your answer.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Security
We take security seriously. Here is how we protect your data:
🔒 Biometric Authentication
DashboardAIR and AskAIR support Face ID, Touch ID, and Android biometric unlock. When enabled, biometric data never leaves your device — it is processed entirely by your device's operating system (iOS Secure Enclave / Android Keystore). We never have access to your biometric data.
🔐 Data Encryption
Sensitive data stored on your device — including authentication tokens and subscription status — is encrypted at rest using platform-native secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) via expo-secure-store. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
🛡️ Session Security
Authentication sessions are managed securely via Firebase Authentication. The app supports automatic session timeout after a period of inactivity. Clipboard data containing copied prompts is automatically cleared after use to protect your privacy.
🔑 API Key Security
All AI service API keys are stored in Google Cloud Secret Manager — never in app code or client-side storage. Keys are encrypted at rest and access-controlled at the infrastructure level.

Third-Party Services
Our apps use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

AIR Consensus Engine™
DashboardAIR and AskAIR use the AIR Consensus Engine™ to determine which AI tool is best suited for each routing category. On a monthly basis, our automated system polls leading AI models — including Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Grok — asking each to evaluate the best tool for each category. Results are scored, reviewed, and published to our routing system.
During this process, no personal user data is transmitted. The polling queries are generic category-level questions with no user identifiers, prompt content, or account information attached. The AIR Consensus Engine™ operates entirely at the system level — it does not access or process individual user prompts or history.
Routing assignments determined by the AIR Consensus Engine™ are updated monthly and apply universally to all users. You can learn more about how this works at 4cylindertechnologies.com.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Unverified accounts may be automatically removed after 72 hours. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of non-essential communications
- Disable biometric authentication at any time in app Settings
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@4cylindertechnologies.com. To delete your account directly, open any 4Cylinder app → Settings → Delete Account.
Biometric Data
When you enable biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or Android biometrics), your biometric data is processed entirely on your device by the operating system. 4Cylinder Technologies LLC never receives, stores, or has access to your biometric data in any form. Biometric authentication can be disabled at any time in Settings.
Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@4cylindertechnologies.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our apps evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
